A Few of my Favorite Things...

Today I was checking out my dear friend Sheree's blog Peterson's Pad and loved the post about her favorite school supplies.  I am always on the lookout for new and wonderful teaching products! Her post reminded me of a few of my favorite things!

This is my favorite desk helper. It includes some great resources. The best things about this desk helper are the number line that goes to 30, the hundreds chart, and positioning the alphabet at the bottom so it is closer to my kiddos.  It is also self adhesive.  Love it!

Pencils and sharpeners have made me CrAzY!!  After ALOT of trial and mostly error... I finally found pencils and a sharpener that have brought happiness to my heart:)  I am a big fan of Ticonderoga Pencils and  the X-ACTO School Pro pencil sharpener.

As long as I am singing the praises of my favorite pencil and sharpener, I might as well give a shout out to my number one favorite eraser.  These are Paper Mate Arrowhead Pink Cap Erasers.  I know you have felt my pain...erasers and first graders...it isn't pretty.  These are hands down the best.  They stay on the pencil, last longer, and erase completely.  Simply the best.

My friend Sally has been using these name tags for a couple of years and I have been coveting them just a little:)  They are a tiny bit pricey so I have tried to convince myself that I didn't NEED them...but my self control wavered just for a minute today while browsing the Lakeshore website and now they are ordered and on the way.  I am so excited!!

I would love to hear about your favorites!

  1. That's my favorite pencil sharpener too! I had scored a new one that my assistant spied hanging out in the front office cabinet last year. That is until one of my little special buddies inserted the eraser end of a pencil into the sharpener. I don't allow children to use the sharpener so that was double jeopardy! He messed up the auto shut off and now it runs constantly until you pull the shavings bin out. At least it still works.
