All it took was the first set of little arms wrapped around my neck, his head buried in my shoulder, and an "I love you Mrs. Shumway", to bring the tears rolling down my cheeks. I was very close to an "ugly" cry by the time I had all 29 of my babies out the door. As they left my classroom for the last time today I found myself wondering, as I do every year, if I had been everything they needed?? Had I done enough???
When I look back and see their growth, think about the progress they have made, and see what they have accomplished I am so excited for what lies ahead for these sweet little people. They are truly an amazing group of kids! I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to be their teacher. I really do have the best job in the world!!
It really is the best job in the world - and the kids just wow me every year!
