Grandparents Day is absolutely one of my favorite days of the year. It is so much fun to watch my little firsties eyes light up when their grandma’s and grandpa’s come to spend the morning with them. Here is the fun art activity my students did with their grandparents this morning.
I started by having grandma or grandpa trace their own hand up to the elbow and help their grandchild trace their hand just past the wrist onto brown construction paper. Then, they cut out the hands and glued them onto a 12 X 18 inch piece of black construction paper.
Each child had a quarter sheet of red, yellow, green, orange construction paper to tear up for leaves. Then they glued the leaves to the tree. Some added clouds, birds, and sunshine.
It was such a fun project and a great fall display for the hall!!
I love this!
